We met, fell in love, and then thought it’d be a great idea to spend the next five years in a long-distance relationship - across countries and time zones. We basically earned a master’s degree in Skype calls and emotional endurance. But hey, it worked! And it taught us how to pay attention, stay present, and hold onto what matters. That’s exactly how we approach our films.
Nina studied painting, which means she sees light and color in a way most people don’t. Her sense of tone and balance brings that soft, cinematic look to our films. Lev has a background in music and approaches every edit like a composition, building emotion through rhythm, silence, and sound.
We live in New York, where inspiration is everywhere, and the rent is a monthly reminder to stay very, very inspired.
Lev's post-edit ritual lives in salt water. There's just something about getting tossed around by waves resets everything, and somehow makes the next film better.
Nina’s version of recharging involves warm air, tropical light, and the firm belief that rest should actually feel like rest.
That contrast - fast and slow, light and still - is where most of our ideas come from. It’s also pretty much how we work: Nina brings the calm, the softness, the elegance, and Lev brings the beat, the movement, the slightly controlled chaos.
Somehow, it works and that balance lives in every film we make.
